Thomas has over 16 years’ experience in insolvency, restructuring, and receiverships. He began his career with Shackleton Risk Management and later joined Mazars Recovery and Restructuring as a Senior Manager. In 2020, he rejoined Progressive Administration as Director and Shareholder. In 2023, Thomas purchased the remaining shareholding of Progressive Administration and has since become the sole shareholder and is now the Managing Director of the company.

Member of SARIPA; appointed Commissioner of Oaths in 2014.

In 1989, Rynette received her B Econ degree from the University of Stellenbosch and has since gained extensive experience in attending to the day-to-day administration of deceased and insolvent estates, and in particular liquidated companies and close corporations. She has substantial and broad-ranging experience in various aspects of liquidations, sequestrations and business rescue.

Rynette furthermore attended a course in Mercantile Law at the Paralegal School of Studies.

Rynette was appointed as a director of Progressive Administration on 1 April 2026.

On the panel of the Master of the High Court since 1995 • Registered Junior Business Rescue Practitioner with CIPC (Companies and Intellection Property Commission) • Member of the South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association (SARIPA)

In 2010, Johann joined BDO Business Restructuring and under the mentorship of a senior business rescue practitioner, he began taking appointments as an insolvency practitioner in 2011 and as a business rescue practitioner in 2017.

Since 2011, Johann has specialised in all aspects relating to the law of insolvency, restructuring, corporate recovery and business rescue.

Johann furthermore obtained a postgraduate diploma in financial planning from the University of Free State in 2015.

Johann was appointed as a director of Progressive Administration on 1 April 2026.

Nandile completed his auditing articles with Mazars in 2018 and later joined Mazars Recovery and Restructuring under the mentorship of Chris Van Zyl. He has completed the SARIPA course and has been placed on the Master’s National Panel.

Maura joined Progressive Administration in 1992, serving as Assistant to Chris Van Zyl for over 20 years. She now manages national administration and HR functions.
